“Forget it a little. More snake plants die from too much water than from neglect.”

  1. 01

    Light

Happy almost anywhere, from a dim corner to morning sun. It grows fastest in bright shade.
  2. 02

    Water

Only when the soil is dry all the way down: about every 2 to 3 weeks indoors, less in an air-conditioned room.
  3. 03

    Soil & pot

Fast-draining soil, such as cactus mix or potting soil with sand or perlite. The pot must have a hole.
  4. 04

    Feeding

Very little. A weak feed every 2 months is plenty.

    What you'll need

    • Cactus & succulent potting mix
    • Pumice
    • A pot with a drainage hole

All available here at the nursery.

Something wrong?

  • Soft, mushy leaves at the base

Too much water and the roots are rotting. Stop watering, cut off the soft leaves and repot into dry, gritty soil.

  • Leaves flopping over

Usually too much water or too little light. Let it dry out and move it somewhere brighter.

  • Dry brown tips

Harmless. Trim them off with clean scissors if you like.

Indoors, aircon OK
