    Light

Full sun or strong morning sun, at least 4 hours.
  2. 02

    Water

Always wet. Stand the pot in a saucer of rainwater or distilled water. Tap water slowly kills it.
  3. 03

Peat moss or sphagnum moss only. Never ordinary soil.
  4. 04

    Feeding

None. It feeds itself on insects.

    What you'll need

    • Peat moss
    • Sphagnum moss

All available here at the nursery.

Something wrong?

  • A trap turns black

Normal after it catches something or is poked. Don't trigger the traps for fun.

  • The whole plant weak and blackening

Tap water, fertiliser or too little sun. Switch to rainwater and more sun.

  • Struggling in the heat

Fly traps find our lowland heat hard. Sarracenia are tougher.
