“It is a sun plant. Indoors for the festive days is fine, then back outside into the sun.”

  1. 01

    Light

Full sun or bright morning sun. Indoors it starts dropping leaves and fruit after a week or two, so keep the indoor days short.
  2. 02

    Water

When the top of the soil is dry. In hot weather that can be every day. Never leave it standing in water.
  3. 03

    Soil & pot

Leave it in its pot through the festive season. Afterwards, move it to a slightly bigger pot with well-draining soil and compost.
  4. 04

    Feeding

Fruit tree fertiliser once a month after the festive season, to build it up for the next fruit.

    What you'll need

    • Fruit tree fertiliser
    • A pot with a drainage hole
    • Neem insect killer

All available here at the nursery.

Something wrong?

  • Fruit and leaves dropping

Usually too little light, or watering that swings between soaked and dry. Move it into the sun and water evenly.

  • Fruit shrivelling on the plant

Old fruit. Pick it off so the plant can rest and grow new leaves.

  • Curled leaves with silvery trails

Leaf miners. Cut off damaged tips and spray new growth with neem.
