“Heavy rain is the danger. Keep it under a roof during the monsoon.”

  1. 01

    Light

As much sun as possible, outdoors under a roof or at the sunniest window. Move it into strong sun a little at a time.
  2. 02

    Water

Water well only when the soil is completely dry. In hot weather that is about every 1 to 2 weeks; less when it rains.
  3. 03

    Soil & pot

Cactus mix, or potting soil with plenty of pumice or sand. The pot must have a hole.
  4. 04

    Feeding

A weak cactus feed every 1 to 2 months.

    What you'll need

    • Cactus & succulent potting mix
    • Pumice
    • Cactus & succulent food

All available here at the nursery.

Something wrong?

  • Soft, yellow or black at the base

Rot from too much water. Cut off the soft part, let it dry for a few days and replant in dry cactus mix.

  • Growing thin and pale

Not enough sun. Move it somewhere sunnier, a little at a time.

  • White or brown patch on one side

Sunburn from being moved into strong sun too quickly. It won't heal, but new growth will be fine.
